Patient suffering from severe equilibrium issues on a daily basis - April 2022

Female patient in her late thirties suffering from severe equilibrium issues on a daily basis along with headaches, neck pain and hand weakness. These symptoms have occurred over several years timeline.

In her initial X-ray profile on the left, note her FHP and loss of cervical lordosis. At C6 there is a degeneration of the anterior superior surface of the vertebral body which is associated with the anterolisthesis or flexion of the above C5 vertebra.

This deformity will work against the building of a normal lordotic cervical curve. Therefore, this is a palliative condition that will require ongoing Cervigard collar usage to maintain a symptom free lifestyle.

She required an extended fulcrum added to the standard fulcrum to achieve the maximum lordotic support. The patient was asymptomatic in 6 weeks. The equilibrium issues cleared up in 2 days.

The X-ray comparison shows the correction potential X-ray on the right with a good correction but needed the extended fulcrum to increase the cervical lordosis.
