Four phases of FHP

Hello to all of our cervigard community! Today’s article defines the four phases of Forward Head Posture. These can be determined via the use of lateral spine views using X-ray or photo analysis in combination with symptom presentation.

The use of the Cervigard FHP collar has helped reveal these phases. Thousands of patients have been successfully treated using this Cervigard FHP collar technology.

A rhetorical question we need to consider is “At what phase should we begin active or prophylactic treatment” Do we let the phase one asymptomatic person go untreated until they start the phase 2 neck pain? Should we provide intervention to those who only show posture with FHP without neck pain? We should at least start thinking about this for children and athletes as well as those in the military who carry heavy back loads.

Cervigard now has 3 new design improvements.

1-The large size collar is now for sale. This suits many patients with a larger girth along the chest and shoulders and the longer larger neck patients.

2- the rear fulcrum is now bifurcated on all new collars. This design change allows for an ideal fit for the spinous process and both lamina resulting in increased comfort and more + Z fulcrum support for the cervical lordosis. This new design can be added to existing Cervigards as it is a Velcro attachment.

3- pediatric pads for the smaller child. This is an under pad that adds bulk to the child’s shoulder girth for a more secure fit of the Cervigard.

The Cervigard Team will be at the CBP drop table seminar on April 4-5 at the Delta Hotel in Iselin, New Jersey. We will demo all the new exciting products in the Cervigard line.
