10 years of chronic neck pain, lumbo-pelvic pain greatly reduced after collar use - June 2022

Patient history:  Jacquelin suffers from chronic (more than 10 years) neck pain, lumbo-pelvic pain and pain going down her right leg. These started when she was kicked in the lower back by a horse at age 9.  She has poor posture with stiff necks and severe balance issues to the degree where she falls.

The treatment approach was is to rehabilitate the loss of both lordotic curves (see photo 4 and 7 below) in the sagittal planes using mirror image posture adjusting with specific spinal adjustments to the mid cervical subluxations at C5, C6, C7 and T1 levels. She also received adjustments in the mid thoracic and lumbar spine.

Adjustments followed by patient walking for 15 to 20 minutes while using the Cervigard FHP Collar treatment. We added the vertetrax traction treatment with fulcrum support at mid lumbar spine to improve her lumbar kyphosis.

After 6 weeks a post X-ray will tell us what else we need to correct. It is not unusual after initial corrections that secondary areas will need to be addressed. The patient purchased a Cervigard Collar for home daily use on the third visit and brings her collar with her to our office for post adjustment use.

Her pain index scores, both initial and after one week are:
Neck and shoulder pain at 7 now 3
Low back pain at 6 now 2
Balance was at 8 now 4
Leg weakness was at 7 now 4

The ligament instability suggests upper cervical cruciate, alar ligament compromise due to chronic unnatural structural loading caused by the misalignment of the upper cervical/cranial complex.  The Cervigard FHP Collar treatment addresses this issue.
